Who doesn't like iPod's? I got this one to replace a 4G ipod that was giving me problems. And U2 is one of my fav bands, so why not getting it. Isn't that expensive as it was a couple of years ago and I already use iTunes for my music, so its all fine. Also really good to carry files as an external hard drive. Excellent for traveling or when in the bus. A must have I would say.

OK first of all, I've always had high regards for Apple products because they are artsy and functional. I purchased the 60GB and a very expensive Vaja case for it. I was so proud of my new ipod.
Little did I know that I am just a pawn in Apple's plot to take over the world by controling the entertainment industry.
FIRST of all, the reason I bought this was for video. Then to find out what a pain it is to convert a DVD over. I have to run Decrypter and then Videora. This takes forever. (To be fair you have to do the same for all the other players.) (And it is easier to convert tv shows from my ReplayTV DVR since no Decryptor is needed.) BUT why do I have to convert to begin with. Why couldn't they have made it more automatic? I actually bought a video from itunes just to make sure the dang thing worked to begin with.
SECOND, I purchased a new computer and had to go through 12 pages of instructional garbage that I printed from the Apple website to get my files over to the new computer. CREATIVE which is superior to Apple ipod in EVERY WAY!, does this like one would expect, plug the Creative unit into the new computer and it's done. This is all part of Apple attempting to control how and what I listen to AND mostly control my library. Under itunes, you can register up to 5 computers. How dare Apple restrict how many computers I'm allowed to use with my ipod. If I want to plug my ipod into another computer to get a file, then I should be able to do it plain and simple without the Apple police out to shut me down every time. Just more fuel for the fire in my opinion.
THIRD and by far my bigest complaint. WHERE IS THE CUSTOM EQ SETTING? Dear Apple I hope you are reading this, please let me select my own eq settings. All yours are terrible. The 1K frequency range is set too high so my music distorts easly. Too many years have passed by to justify your lack of this option. OH AND BY THE WAY, CREATIVE HAS A CUSTOM EQ SETTING!
I know what you citizens are thinking, how can Apple NOT have this feature. Does this reviewer know what he is talking about? Well for those of you who doubt me, go to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61567
So what does this all mean? As a matter of fact, right now I'm listening to mp3 music on my headphones at work as I type this. At the end of my headphone cord is not my ipod but my laptop computer. Plain and simply IT SOUNDS BETTER then my ipod ever did or ever will.

Amazon.com Product Description
The iPod touch features Apple's revolutionary multi-touch user interface that enables you to find and enjoy all of your music, videos, and more on its gorgeous widescreen display with just the touch of a finger. First introduced on iPhone, the multi-touch interface uses pioneering new software to present the perfect user interface for each application.

Glide through albums with the iPod touch's amazing Cover Flow technology. View iPod touch dimensions.

Browse the Web with the included Safari browser. Or fire up a YouTube video and enjoy the show.

The iPod touch responds to your movements; turn it sideways and your video is presented in widescreen mode.

Incredibly thin at just 8 millimeters.
The iPod touch also includes Wi-Fi wireless networking, the first on any iPod, and three amazing applications that use it: Safari, the most advanced browser on any mobile device, lets you wirelessly view web pages just as they look on your computer, and features Google Search or Yahoo! oneSearch; Apple's YouTube application lets users wirelessly watch over 10 million free videos from the Internet's most popular video website; and the new iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store lets you wirelessly browse, preview and buy songs and albums from the most popular online music store in the world. And to top it all off, the iPod touch is an unbelievable eight millimeters thin.

Music
If a picture says a thousand words, think of what all the album art in your collection might say. With Cover Flow on iPod touch, you can flick through your music to find the album you want to hear. And when you do, a quick tap of the cover flips it over to display a track list. Another tap starts the music.

Video
The 3.5-inch display gives you video like nothing you've seen before on a portable device. Watch your favorite movie. Catch up on television shows, anywhere. Enjoy video podcasts. Play music videos. All using multi-touch technology that lets you bring up onscreen controls and go widescreen (or back to full screen) with a tap.

Photos
iPod touch holds up to 20,000 photos you sync via iTunes. Flick to scroll through thumbnails. Tap to view full screen. Rotate for landscape format. Or perform some sleight of hand by opening two fingers to zoom in. You can even play slideshows, complete with music and transitions. Set any photo as your wallpaper to personalize your iPod touch...with a touch.

Safari
With Apple's Safari browser built in, iPod touch is the only iPod that gives you wireless access to the web, everywhere you go. See websites the way they were designed to be seen. Sync your bookmarks or add a few as you go. Search the web using the touchscreen keyboard. Zoom in and out by tapping the multi-touch display.

YouTube
Got a bit of a YouTube addiction? iPod touch feeds it from anywhere with a special YouTube player built right in. Watch featured videos, check out the most viewed, search for something specific, then bookmark your favorites for future reference. It's all the fun of YouTube--pocket-size.

iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store
With iPod touch, you can discover new music anywhere. Built-in wireless capability gives you access to the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, where you can buy songs with a tap. Browse New Releases, What's Hot, and Just Added lists. Or find exactly what you're looking for with a quick search. Tap a song to preview it or tap Buy to purchase it. From anywhere.

Starbucks Music
You walk into a Starbucks. Order your latte. While you wait, you hear a song wafting from the loudspeakers. You love it. So you get out your iPod touch and buy it over Wi-Fi. Just like that. The iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch tells you what's playing in select Starbucks and lets you buy it along with other featured Starbucks content. So you can sip, shop, and listen.

Multi-touch
iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone. Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the multi-touch interface lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page. And iPod touch features a touchscreen QWERTY keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, entering calendar events, or adding new contacts.

Ambient Light Sensor
The iPod touch display has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness to suit the ambient light in your surroundings. The result? A better experience for you and battery-saving efficiency for iPod touch.

Accelerometer
An accelerometer detects when you rotate iPod touch from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page, your music in Cover Flow, or a photo in its proper aspect ratio.

Product Description
Touch comes to iPod. The Apple iPod touch boasts the multi-touch interface - the revolutionary technology that made iPhone a hit is now on one amazing iPod. 1 out of 5 stars Fraud... September 1, 2008

I received an obvious rip off ipod from this seller. I contacted apple with the serial number and they confirmed it was a serial number they had on file as a counterfiet product. I didn't think amazon would support such shady stores. I received a prompt refund however I will NEVER buy from this seller again.

My friends tend to think of me as an early adopter -- meaning I'm usually body-surfing on the first wave of buyers for new products. Still, a product has to meet my needs, solve specific problems, and provide an acceptable level of value. Being "new" isn't near the top of my list of priorities.

Before I got my iPod touch, I new it could play music and videos, display photos, and do a few other odds and ends. But I had no idea it could accomplish these tasks in a way that is simultaneously elegant, intuitive, charming, and just plain fun. Sure, we've all seen the commercials on TV, but nothing can prepare you for what you'll experience the first time you hold one in your hands and start listening to music, watching a video, or leafing through a photo album -- all without the need for assistance. But many other folks have already commented on how easy the iPod touch is to use, so I'll focus this review on new ways to use the touch.

I now leave my computer at home when I travel. Instead of schlepping a laptop computer through airport security, I take my little iPod touch. With 16 GB of memory, I can easily put about 10 full-length movies on it, plus my entire iTunes library, a few photo albums, and numerous programs (more on those later). What that means is that I can sit back in my straightjacket-like coach seat, plug in my noise-canceling headphones, and watch the movie (or listen to the music) of my choice while babies yowl and drunks bellow their life stories directly into the ears of the poor schlubs sitting next to them. Yeah, it would be better to watch a movie on a larger screen, but at what cost? I've now taken several trips with the iPod touch and found its little 3-1/2 inch screen to be crisp, clear, and very watchable -- even for 2-plus-hour movies. I just set it down on my tray table, and voila ... instant drive-in theater, without the groping. Since this little device features wireless networking, I'm able to send and receive email or access the internet wherever there's a hotspot, which is yet another good reason for leaving your laptop at home. I suppose if I needed to do keyboard-intensive tasks while on the road, I'd find the touch's tiny keyboard inadequate. But what I mostly need to do is email and take a few notes, which the iPod touch is perfectly suited for.

I'm a huge fan of internet radio -- specifically Radio Paradise, which I think is probably the best eclectic rock station I've ever heard. In fact, I've been introduced to many new bands through Radio Paradise, then gone out and bought their CDs. But I've always wanted an easy way to capture the internet stream on my iPod. Now I can. Mac users can purchase a fantastic program called TapeDeck, the interface of which looks just like one of those 70s-era shoebox-style cassette decks (hence the name of the program). Want to record an internet stream? Press the Record button on TapeDeck. Two hours (or however long you want) later, just press the Stop button. It creates virtual "tapes" which you can then drag into your iTunes music library, then plop onto your iPod touch (or any other iPod). When I've shown TapeDeck to people, their eyes light up at how simple it is to use. So now when I'm sitting in a crowded airport waiting area, I'll listen to a Radio Paradise stream. The way TapeDeck works with iTunes and my iPod touch is nothing short of a miracle. I would imagine that there's a program out there that provides the capabilities (if not the simplicity) of TapeDeck for you PC users.

Finally, there's the (relatively) new iTunes App Store that's available to iPhone and iPod touch users through iTunes. I've got to say, as good as the iPod touch was in version 1, version 2 of the operating system makes it an order of magnitude more powerful. Want a program that shows you good restaurants in your area? It's available in the App Store. Like to play games? There are hundreds waiting for your download. Got a specific idea for a capability you'd like on your new little gizmo? It's probably already there in the App Store. There are more programs than you'd likely be able to use in a lifetime -- and about 25 percent of them are available as a free download. It doesn't get cheaper than free. You can download these programs to your computer or directly to the iPod.

Want to know what else is cool? Say you're sitting in a Starbucks, sucking down a hazelnut latte. You hear a great song over their speaker system and wish desperately you could own that song. If you've got an iPod touch, you just press the Starbucks button and ... lo and behold, there's the name of the currently playing song and a list of the last 10 songs Starbucks played. Press the Buy button, and the song is downloaded directly to your touch. The entire process is just stunning in its simplicity and cleverness.

Do I have any complaints? Yeah, but it's so minor, I'm embarrassed to even bring it up. My one gripe concerns syncing. Other iPods allow you to simply drag items on and off your iPod through iTunes. The touch (and the iPhone) want you to put a check mark next to items in a list, then press a Sync button. It's a bit confusing (at first) trying to understand which data is going in what direction. On the plus side, say you update your Safari bookmarks or Address Book contacts. Press the Sync button and that new info is automatically transferred to your touch. Brilliant! So that's the yin and yang of syncing.

I suppose I'd also like to connect to the internet when wireless hotspots aren't available, but then that's the primary difference between the iPhone and the iPod touch.

You won't catch me complaining about the screen or keyboard size because ... well, what do you expect from a device this small? A screen that unfolds to the size of a 42-inch HD TV? No, it is what it is, and what it is is very, very useful.

I've now owned my iPod touch for eight months, and I'm still dazzled by its beauty, capabilities, and ridiculous ease of use every time I press the Power button. I've shown it to early adopters and the technologically challenged alike, and all are blown away by it.

Is it worth $399? It is if you need a product that will make its various capabilities easier and more fun to use than any other product out there. And it is if you're fed up with lugging a computer around on your trips because you need to stay in touch with email and the internet. I won't say that $399 is a pittance for such a device, since everyone has a unique pain threshold when it comes to discretionary purchases. As for me, now that I've integrated the iPod touch into my lifestyle, I wouldn't want to live without it. And there are very few things I can say that about.

I had an IPOD earlier on. So, bought this relying on information that you can upgrade based on previous item. Yet to try that. This product is world of information. As always apple has lived up to my expectations

5 out of 5 stars This is simply GREAT!!! August 10, 2008

I was hesitant at first as I never had an "iPod" of any kind before. Needless to say, after I got my iPod Touch, now I am saying how did I ever get by without one? THIS IS A TRULY GREAT MOBILE DEVICE!

THis is especially true with the latest firmware upgrade (V2.0) for only 10 bucks and all the new applications available from the Apple iTunes store, many of which are actually pretty good and absolutely FREE!

The only thing that would be even better is of course, the iPhone itself. I actually don't need another cell phone, but the Touch would certainly be immensely more "mobile" if I had access to the Internet from anywhere all the time. This is its main limitation. You can only use it wirelessly if you are close to a WAP, or a home network with wifi access. Unfortunately, the places I go when I am out and about do not have (free) public access to the Internet. Not even where I work, and that's a real BUMMER. If I went out to eat a McDonald's everyday, or a Starbucks, that would help solve the problem.

Also, there are a lot of new iPhone apps which an iPod Touch user can use too, but without a built in audio output speaker (other than a simple "beeper"), nor a built in camera, some of these programs are less functional. For example, who wants to wear earphones to play a casual video game, or social network without being able to post photos in real time.

Nevertheless, the iPod Touch is plenty useful enough for many other applications, even if you are just sitting at home watching TV while check your emails or playing your favorite game during a commercial.

You can also use a Touch (with wifi access) to do text messages. Check out a webapp called Meebos.com for that, cause there Apple does not (yet) support a native SMS other than the one built in to the iPhone, but not available on the Touch. AIM is supported as a free app downloadable from the iTunes store, but all my contacts are using Yahoo or Windows Live. Thankfully, Meebos has those two covered.

Unless you want to download tons of music and movies, I think 16GB si adequate. However, 100 bucks extra to double the memory capacity is probably worth it to keep everything stored in your Touch without ever having to delete any files to make space for others.

Like the iPhone, the Touch's color graphics 3.5" hires touch screen and accelerometer are VERY NICE features! Many of the latest and greatest apps take good advantage of these features.

I recommend getting a couple of extra chargers; one for your car or at work to have handy. Under heavy use, the battery will need frequent recharges. After several hours of constant use, it will need to be recharged, but you can still use it while it is recharging.

Lastly, the retail marketplace has started selling new release DVD movies with "digital" copies, some of which are compatible with the iPod Touch (and iPhone). These new DVDs usually cost a couple bucks more, but if you want to watch movies on a mobile device (while wearing a set of headphones), you now have that option with certain movies (no HDDVD or BluRay formats though).

Definitely a useful, and handy mobile device to have for the 21st century! High Recommended!!!

iPod touch now includes built-in Nike + iPod support.

Nike + iPod

Tune Your Run
iPod touch now includes built-in Nike + iPod support. Just slip the Nike + iPod Sensor (available separately) into your Nike+ shoe and start your run. The sensor communicates wirelessly with your iPod touch, tracking your time, distance, and calories burned. It even gives you voice feedback on your progress.

Tune Your Cardio Workout
This feature also works with new cardio equipment available in many fitness centers. Just look for treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, and stationary bikes that are Nike + iPod compatible.

Sync with Nikeplus.com
When you get back to your computer, sync your iPod touch via iTunes and transfer your exercise data to nikeplus.com, where you can track your workouts, set goals, and challenge friends.

Multi-Touch
iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone.

Glide, Flick, Pinch
Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the Multi-Touch touchscreen interface lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, zoom in and out on a section of a web page, and control game elements precisely.

How it Works
The Multi-Touch display layers a protective shield over a capacitive panel that senses your touch using electrical fields. It then transmits that information to the LCD screen below it. iPod touch software enables the flick, tap, and pinch.

Type with the Touchscreen Keyboard
iPod touch features an intelligent touchscreen keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, getting directions on a map, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, or adding new contacts. It analyzes keystrokes to suggest words as you type and correct spelling errors automatically. And because it's software based, it changes its keys to support typing in multiple languages.

iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks.

Accelerometer
iPod touch responds to motion using a built-in accelerometer.

Responds to Movement
iPod touch detects when you rotate it from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display. So you immediately see the entire width of a web page, view a photo in its proper aspect ratio, or control a game using only your movements.

How it Works
The accelerometer inside iPod touch uses three elements: a silicon mass, a set of silicon springs, and an electrical current. The silicon springs measure the position of the silicon mass using the electrical current. Rotating iPod touch causes a fluctuation in the electrical current passing through the silicon springs. The accelerometer registers these fluctuations and tells iPod touch to adjust the display accordingly.

Perfect for Gaming
Accelerometer technology really shines when you play games because it immerses you in the action. It's perfect for racing games--where your entire iPod touch acts as a steering wheel--and for tap-and-tilt games like Super Monkey Ball, in which your character responds to your every movement.

Wireless
Connect iPod touch to the Internet anywhere there's a wireless network.

Connect Automatically
iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks. If you've never used a particular network, it asks you to enter a password the first time, and it remembers the password from then on. So the next time you're within range, it connects automatically.

Surf's Up
Now you can send email from a coffee shop. Surf the web at the airport. Shop for games from your couch. Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hotspots in your area.

What's in the Box
iPod touch 16 GB, earphones, USB 2.0 cable, dock adapter, polishing cloth, quick start guide

4 out of 5 stars curvier, lighter, cheaper, iPhone-ier September 9, 2008
James L. Wright Jr. (Long Beach, CA USA)
11 out of 16 found this review helpful

The 2G iPod Touch is a solid update, with some nice new, er, touches. If you have the existing 1G Touch, you won't find a compelling reason to upgrade unless you use the Nike+ fitness device, as this new Touch has that support built in. If you've been waiting for the price to come down, good news: the new devices are about $100 cheaper than their predecessors, so the 32Gb Touch can be had for under $400, and the 8Gb for a little over $200. The 16Gb device strikes me as the sweet spot at $299.

Improvements include: iPhone Firmware 2.1, which opens access to the AppStore and fixes some of 2.0's bugs; an internal speaker (not terribly loud, but it'll do in a pinch); the Nike+ support; a new form factor that is lighter and curved for easier holding (though if you use it on a flat surface it's not as stable as the 1G); 6 hour video / 36 hour audio battery life; support for the new iTunes 8.0 Genius playlists (similar to Rhapsody Channels and Pandora, but limited to your on-device music collection).

If your primary need is for an audio player, especially for podcasts and audiobooks where the device sits in your pocket for hours on end, I'd recommend you consider the iPod Nano. The new 4G Nano tops off at 16Gb, which works out to nearly six months of spoken-word content. And at $199, you get twice the storage for less than the 8Gb Touch.

Where the Touch shines is in its interactivity - a gorgeous video-viewing experience that won't strain your eyes like the Nano, full Safari browser and other Internet-enabled applications (with a WiFi connection), gorgeous 2D and decent 3D gaming, PDA-like functionality. It's called Touch for a reason - it screams out to be looked at, touched, played with, caressed, even licked. It's a full-blown computer in your hand; to use it as a mere digital audio player makes Steve Jobs cry.

I wouldn't toss a 1G Touch for this device, since you can upgrade to the 2.1 firmware and get most of the goodies in software. But if you're looking to upgrade from a smaller device and want something with the additional potential to replace your Palm, PSP or Nintendo DS Lite, this is a compelling option.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic New Features + More Affordable September 9, 2008
Stephen Hall (USA)

I have anxiously been awaiting the arrival of the second generation iPod Touch. I just had to get one at the local Apple store, and I am incredibly impressed!

First, the Touch has added features that were missing and desired: A speaker, now included. It won't rock the house down, but for a quick listen to a song, or more importantly to have audio, when playing games, the speaker is great and was needed.

Next, it has physical volume buttons on the side of the device, like the iPhone. This is great because it makes it easy to reach into your pocket and change the volume.

The appearance of the iPod Touch also improved. On the edges, the device is even thinner than the first generation device, and it just feels more expertly crafted this time around. I also prefer the feel and texture to the iPhone because the iPhone has too much plastic, but the iPod Touch has a stunningly gorgeous stainless steel back. I would recommend some plastic sticky protectors to protect the stainless because because the metal will get scratches otherwise.

I hate to sound overly excited about it, but when you use it, it is pretty cool.

The software is great and comes with the latest version, so you get all the fantastic applications: Mail, Safari, Maps, Calendars, etc.

APP STORE - I can't tell you how excited I am to have games and other applications in my pocket as well. You have direct access to the App Store on the iPod over Wi-Fi and on your computer via iTunes, where you can purchase nifty applications including games. I started playing the iPhone/iPod Touch version of Spore today, and it's a lot of fun. I'm sure even more fantastic games will be coming in the months ahead, and there are already dozens to buy.

Battery - The battery life is improved, and you will get up to 36 hours of audio and 6 hours of video. Apple gives relatively fair estimates, so I think we can expect that particularly the audio number, if you didn't keep lighting the screen up.

Nike + built in. For those who love working out, the Nike + receiver is now built into the iPod Touch, so just add the sensor into a supported Nike shoe, and you'll have your data right on the iPod Touch. It is really nice, to not have to connect a dongle, to the bottom of the device.

The new Genius feature is great too. Select a song, and then use the genius feature. It will create a playlist of songs from your library that are similar to said selected song. You're ready to listen to songs, which fit your current mood. Really impressive how accurately it can do this.

Capacity - You'll have to decide on the right capacity for you: 8, 16, or 32 GB. If you're mainly into music, 8GB isn't so bad. If you want a couple videos now and again, you might want the 16. Obviously, if you want to fit all you can on it, get the 32. All are an appropriate value. Don't forget that you will also likely buy some applications for the iPod, which will also take up a bit of space. Get the right one for you at the price you like.

Overall, I was bit skeptical of the iPod Touch, but with this new generation I'm sold, and I love it. Those with a first generation will get some of the new features such as Genius via update, so it's mainly the speaker you'd be missing out on and slightly different look. I'm not sure that is worth the upgrade, but it might be for some. If you're getting your second iPod, it's good, if you want your first iPod, it's probably the best one ever. Also, for those who don't want to trade their phone for the iPhone, this gives you so many of the iPhone features in an iPod! Perfect. I'd highly recommend the iPod Touch. I'm off to play Spore on mine some more.

This leather cases are hand-stitched to create the perfect fit for my iPod Classic 80GB. There is a space on the base of the case for the dock connector. So, I don't have to remove the case to get my iPod charged and allows easy access to my headphone jack. And this pure leather case incorporates a flip frame that is hand-mounted wit full screen protector. I like this case very much while the case was arrived little bit later than the expected date. I also appreciate Eforcity providing a prompt reply when I asked for the shipping status of my order,

This case is well made, but the hole on the bottom of the case for the standard iPod connectors (PC, radio, AC charger)is not large enough so you have first push the connector head through, thread it to the iPod, and then push the iPod back down into the case. This is truly a pain and a slightly larger opening would be ideal.

I purchased this case as an addition to the silicon case that I already owened, and I like this case much better. I own the 80GB classic and I can keep the silicon case on my IPod and still fit it in within this leather case. I don't use the belt clip option, I only use the case, and it just goes into my briefcase or jacket pocket and it works out fine.

3 out of 5 stars Not for Audio-Books September 10, 2008

I returned the Zoon (horrible software), within a week, and replaced it with iPod 80 Gb. Well, I didn't realize until too late, that iPod is an iTunes-pay-per-Song-Delivery-Device. In other words it is not a personal recorder where you can download your legally owned stuff. It scrambles the tracks. This may not be an issue for music tracks, but for audio-books it is a disaster. As a matter of fact, unless you want to listen to music only, from iTunes (pay again for music), this device is a Frustration-Device.

I purchased a 160 GB Classic iPod to replace a 30 GB iPod. The old iPod would synch to my music library without a problem. I can't get the new one to synch, I sent it back to Apple and they found no problems. I still can't get it to synch. I think it stinks. My daughter has a 4 giga nano and it has no problems synch music. Needless to say, I am not happy.

4 out of 5 stars Great But Needs To Be More User-Friendly September 9, 2008

I'm still loading my CDs onto this wonderful gadget. It has tons of storage for not only music but videos, podcasts and pictures. It automatically sorts your "songs" (inc. parts of a classical work) via Genre, Artist, Composer... also you can design Playlists and assign files to them. and the album art feature adds to the beauty of the design. I approached the ear-bud headset with skepticism but music sounds great through them.

Needs to be more user friendly. I (dumbly) chose to load via my wife's Mac rather than my PC. I don't find the Apple operating system as accessible as many people do, but then, it's not one I use regularly. So getting to work this thing was (and still is) not as easy as I'd wish -- for example, I had to fool around more than I'd have liked to acquire album art. Additionally, the only hard-copy instructions you get are a little Quick Start Guide. The more detailed manuals are on-line so you have to search for the right one and then download and print it if you like to read the instructions off paper rather than the vid monitor. Considering the price, I'd have liked to get more paper instructions but I suppose the market for this product is mainly 16- 35 and not 58 year olds like me.

Nonetheless -- this product is the wave of the future.

I researched ipods extensively before buying the 80GB ipod Classic. I really enjoy it. My only issue is that it does not take the music I downloaded from BestBuy's music program. Other than that, I love it!
